Pale Straw in colour with a green hue. Intense lemon myrtle and peach on the nose, with toasty oak and a hint of custard. Flinty mineral character comes from the wild ferment. A flinty, racy palate, still with a silky, sweet entry and creamy mid-palate, long and very fine. Preserved lemon and wet stone character carries through the full length of the palate.
Great with a slow cooked pork belly with roasted apples and a sage and butter sauce. Parmesan, mozzarella, and creamy, soft cheeses pair well. Enhance the flavours of the wine with delicate green herbs such as tarragon, basil and thyme.
Bastard Hill Chardonnay is a wine with a defined sense of place. Piercing aromas that are accentuated by intense lemon myrtle and peach flavours, soft juicy acidity and a creamy, fine finish.
