Deep garnet red with bright scarlet hue, with a bouquet of dark cherry, plum and blackberry, with dark chocolate and vanilla spice. A vibrant and rich wine of dark fruit, Christmas cake and raspberry spice. A long and complex palate with notes of coffee bean and liquorice supported by balanced acidity and a fine tannin structure.
A great match with barbecued meat in particular texas beef brisket, spicy sausages, kangaroo and hearty vegetables especially chargrilled.
A classic vintage in the Barossa Valley; cool winter with lower than average rainfall which continued into spring, warmer than average temperatures through November, December & January.
