Vivid crimson with bright purple hues. Fragrant powerful aromatics showing rich sweet aromas of grilled nuts, smokey savoury meats, musk spice and complexing cedar nuances. Together with bright dark plum and dark chocolate notes the wine continues to evolve in the glass. Pure fruit with even poise through the palate, showing wonderful balance and length of flavour. Full bodied, but never over the top, the palate is filled with dark red fruits, balanced spice, cedar notes from the French oak and fine savoury tannins that extend the palate. A combination of powerful richly flavoured fruit with fine savoury tannins.
Try this McLaren Vale Shiraz with grilled or roast beef ideally served rare or with a pepper sauce and hearty vegetables. A great match with strong hard cheeses especially cheddar or a mellow blue.
Hardys Tintara Sub Regional wines highlight the uniqueness of the different Sub Regions within McLaren Vale. The aromatics, tannins and flavours are vastly different, attributed to the contrasting soil, vine age, aspect and elevation.
An outstanding year in McLaren Vale has resulted in this single site vineyard parcel to shine in 2016. Hand-picked and berry sorted prior to open fermentation and basket pressing, the wine has benefitted from 17 months of maturation in large format oak vessels to preserve the fragrance & characteristics of this small sub region in McLaren Vale.
