Brilliant garnet red with vibrant dark red edge. Red plums, dark cherry and fruit cake spice notes dominate the bouquet with underlying fragrance of herbs. Undergrowth and dark chocolate with subtle mocha and cedar oak influence adding further intrigue. Focused & brooding with sweet dark berry fruits, plum and rhubarb with savoury characters of peat, black olive tapenade & cedar spice. The palate is framed by persistent fine tannins that carry the flavour the length of the palate, and finishes with mouth-watering acidity. A palate of balance and underlying power.
A great accompaniment to osso bucco and venison. It also pairs wonderfully with some barbecued meats and vegetables.
A very pure and perfumed example of McLaren Vale Shiraz from Hardy’s Yeenunga vineyard. Sitting high above the township of McLaren Vale and overlooking the Onkaparinga Gorge and St Vincent’s Gulf. This site consistently produces Shiraz oozing with personality and a true expression of its site.
